Have you ever had a retreat at a monastery or religious community and prayed the Liturgy of the Hours with the community? Have you ever desired to continue this prayer practice after the retreat ended? The Augustinians invite you to join us in praying the Liturgy of the Hours on a regular basis from where you are. By praying the Liturgy of the Hours at the same time we do, we can unite our prayers for the world, the Church, our loved ones, and ourselves on a daily basis. If you do not have time to pray the full liturgy of the hours with us, you can join us by praying each morning the Prayer to Our Mother of Good Counsel and every evening The Prayer for Augustinian Vocations.
There are several ways to pray the Liturgy of the Hours with us:
1. If you are new and have access to a smartphone or tablet, we recommend downloading iBreviary, which provides easy and ready access to the prayers and readings of the day with the click of a button. It further allows the special readings and prayers designated for Augustinian feast days.
2. If you do not have access to a smartphone or tablet and desire to use a computer, we recommend visiting the Universalis Website.
3. Alternatively, you can also purchase a print version of the Breviary which is what we use in our local communities. Several versions are available.
